Tuvalu: Gods of Olympus - Aphrodite 5 oz Silver 2022
The Gods of Olympus series is a noteworthy offering from renowned precious metals producer The Perth Mint. The Gods of Olympus collection was first made public in 2014 and sold out immediately. In 2020, there is a reissue of this remarkable collection and this time, in addition to the coins having "Antiqued Finish", the manufacturer has also prepared an investment version - a bullion version.
The silver bullion coin depicting Aphrodite is a product made of pure Ag bullion.9999, weighing 5 troy ounces and measuring 55.9mm. The Aphrodite 2022 coin is the sixth coin in the Gods of Olympus series. The coin is guaranteed by the government of Tuvalu and is a full-fledged means of payment within the country. Importantly, this is a silver copy, which has a strictly limited edition of 450 pieces. It is therefore worth taking an interest in this coin, as well as the entire series.
Obverse the silver coin features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II and information about the face value, weight, minting proof and date of issue. The designer of the obverse was Ian Rank-Broadley.
Reverse shows a seated figure of Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty with flowing hair on Aphrodite's Rock beach. Surrounding Aphrodite are dolphins leaping out of the water and a swan. Aphrodite is depicted with a mirror in her left hand and a seated dove on the fingers of her right hand. In addition, the reverse side bears the inscription "APHRODITE" and the mint mark in the form of the letter "P".
