St Helena Una and the Lion 2 oz Silver 2021 coin is the third piece in the new St Helena Una and the Lion series. The story of Una and the Lion was written by poet Edmund Spencer in 1590. The work is one of the longest poems written in English. It consists of six books and 36,000 lines. It is widely believed that the work is an allegory of the life and achievements of Elizabeth I.
The silver bullion coin was struck from pure Ag bullion.999, weighing two troy ounces. The mintage of the cylinder is 1000 pieces.
Obverse the silver coin is decorated with the image of Queen Elizabeth II and the inscriptions "ST. HELENA" and "ELIZABETH II." The obverse also contains information about the coin's face value. The designer of the obverse was Ian Rank-Broadley.
Reverse valance depicts an image of Una and Lion looking into each other's eyes. It is a kind of combination of calmness, courage, confidence and strength. The reverse side bears the inscription "UNA AND LION" and information about the weight, proof and year of the coin's mintage. The designer of the reverse was Glyn Davies.
