Lunar III: Year of the Rabbit Gold Plated 1 Ounce Silver 2023 is the fourth edition of the Lunar III series. Previous coins in the series were the Year of the Mouse 2020, the Year of the Buffalo 2021 and the Year of the Tiger 2022. The lunar series refers to 12 animals that are representatives of the Chinese lunar calendar. The year 2023 belongs to the rabbit, otherwise known as the cat. Chinese zodiac sign rabbit falls in 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011, 2023.

Silver coin with the image of two rabbits, was struck in bullion sample - Ag.9999. The currency has gold elements. An important element is the limited mintage of 25,000 pieces of the coin.
Obverse the silver coin is decorated with the likeness of Queen Elizabeth II. The whole is surrounded by the inscription "ELIZABETH II" , "AUSTRALIA" and information about the face value, weight and minting sample. The designer of the obverse was Jody Clark.
Reverse shows gilded two rabbits, with one sitting and the other standing on its hind legs. The reverse also features the Chinese "rabbit" sign, the inscription "RABBIT 2023" and the letter "P" which is the mint mark of The Perth Mint. The designer of the reverse was Ing Ing Jong.
