Malta: Daniel Mróz and Stanislaw Lem Coloured 20 Euro Silver 2022 High Relief Antiqued Coin is a coin dedicated to Daniel Mróz and Stanislaw Lem is a tribute to their work and their extraordinary collaboration, which contributed to the popularisation of Polish literature around the world.
Daniel Mróz was an outstanding Polish illustrator and graphic designer, best known for his collaboration with Stanisław Lem, one of the most important science fiction writers in the history of literature. Mróz created highly distinctive illustrations for many of Lem's works, including his iconic 'Cyberiad' series.
The silver coin was struck from pure Ag.999 bullion, weighing 200 grams and with a diameter of 65mm. The mintage is 100 pieces. The coin was commissioned by the Central Bank of Malta. Each piece comes individually wrapped in its original packaging with a certificate of authenticity.
The obverse depicts an image of an illustration by Daniel Frost, depicting a futuristic scene inspired by the "Cyberiad" and the Coat of Arms of the Central Bank of Malta with information on the year of issue, purity of bullion, denomination and country of issue.
Rewers of silver show a portrait of Stanisław Lem and Daniel Mroz, graphic elements that refer to technological and cosmic motifs and the inscription "DANIEL MRÓZ & STANISŁAW LEM".
