Collector's Kiwi 1 Ounce Silver 2017 Proof coin is a unique offering prepared by New Zealand Post. Kiwi is a series of coins that has been minted since 2004, with a different representative of the Kiwi family adorning the image each year.
The Silver Kiwi of 2017 depicts the "Brown Kiwi" species, a flightless kiwi bird that lives on Stewart Island. The said coin is minted from pure fine silver, weighing one ounce and having a diameter of 40 mm.
This unique coin is produced with a mirror stamp - standard proof. What's more, Kiwi 2017 has a limited edition of only 2,500 pieces and, importantly, each piece comes in an exclusive case with a numbered certificate of authenticity.
Reverse depicts the spotted kiwi against the background of its natural environment.
Obversethe coins are decorated with an effigy of Queen Elizabeth II wearing a crown and include information about the date of issue and the issuing country.
