Canada: Tribute - W Mint Mark "Polar Bear" $2 Silver 2023 is the first coin in the "Tribute W Mint Mark" series featuring the polar bear "Ursus maritimus." Canada is home to about 15,000 polar bears, or about two-thirds of the world's population, which live in the country's northern regions. The coin is minted from Ag silver.9999, weighing 31.39 grams and 38 mm in diameter, with a specimen finish. The mintage of the product is 7,500 pieces. In addition, this remarkable piece was produced by The Royal Canadian Mint. The coin is guaranteed by the Government of Canada as to its legality, purity of the bullion and origin of the metal, and is a full-fledged means of payment in the country of the issuer.
Obverse depicts the likeness of Queen Elizabeth II and includes the year of issue as designed by Susanna Blunt.
Reverse the coin shows a polar bear with its head turned to the side, standing on a small hill. The reverse also bears the "W" sign, as well as information on the denomination and country of the issuer. The designer of the reverse was Brent Townsend.
