The silver coloured bullion coin, Australian Emu 2023, has been made from the highest quality Ag.9999 bullion, weighing 1 troy ounce and measuring a maximum of 40.9mm in diameter. The coin was struck in a limited mintage of only 2,500 pieces. Each Australian Emu coin produced by The Perth Mint, under the Australian Currency Act 1965, is full legal tender in the issuer's country. What's more, the 2023 Australian Emu silver coins are delivered in their original individual packaging. Since the launch of the minting of the currency in 2018, the pieces are being issued for the second time in a bullion coloured version. The sales limit per person is five pieces.

The obverse of the silver coloured coinage is enhanced by an image of Queen Elizabeth II wearing a crown. The product pays tribute to Her Majesty's 70 years of service to the British throne from 1952 to 2022, which marked the platinum jubilee of the monarch's reign in 2022. The obverse design also includes information about the issuing country and the face value of the coin, along with the initials of designer Jody Clark, long-time artist, engraver and internationally recognised designer of the last effigy of Queen Elizabeth II on minted products.

Rewers of the coloured coin depict a close-up of a female emu accompanied by a baby emu, resting amidst Australia's distinctive wilderness. The mother is caring for the safety of her helpless offspring. The design of the valentine was perfected, taking into account the characteristic colouring of the feathers presented with the play of light, and the blind of the endemic bird deceptively resembles the animal's natural eye along with the depth of the gaze. The designer of the reverse was Neil Hollis, an artist who realises great numismatic ideas. In addition, information about the weight, purity of the bullion, the year the coin was struck and the mint mark 'P' of The Perth Mint have been included on the reverse side.
