The 75th Birthday of His Majesty King Charles III Celebration Sovereign 2023 (Struck 14 November 2023)
The 2023 Sovereign is minted in Au.916.7 bullion, 22 carat gold, 22.05 mm in diameter, weighing 7,988 grams. Each coin in the historic series has an admixture of copper, so it remains highly resistant to scratches and damage. In addition, all Sovereigns are guaranteed by the UK Government.
The obverse shows the likeness of King Charles III of Great Britain, the inscription "CHARLES III∙DEI∙GRA∙REX∙FID∙DEF", designed by Martin Jennings. The Rewers depicts a scene of Saint George slaying a dragon. The date of issue is also indicated at the bottom of the gold coin. The designer of the reverse was Benedetto Pistrucci.
