Rwanda: Lunar - Year of the Snake 1/12 ounce Gold 2025 is a gold bullion coin that is the ninth piece to form the Lunar series. Rwanda: Lunar is an African collection depicting lunar animals from the Chinese calendar. Of course, as with other lunar collections, the depiction of the animals changes annually. The year 2025 belongs to the snake and is seen as a time of deep reflection, wisdom and inner development. Snakes have a reputation for being philosophical thinkers who are patient and prone to pondering. The Chinese zodiac sign of the snake falls in the years: 1917, 1929, 1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001, 2013 and 2025.
The coin is minted from pure Au.999 gold, weighing 1/12th of a troy ounce and measuring 25mm in diameter. Importantly, the snake coin, like the entire series, is guaranteed by the Government of Rwanda and is full legal tender in the issuing country. The coin is minted in a limited mintage of 888 pieces.
The Overt of the gold coin is decorated with Rwanda's coat of arms and information on the face value.
The Rewers shows the figure of the titular snake and information on the weight of the coin, the purity of the bullion used and the year of mintage. In addition, the reverse side features the inscription "YEAR OF THE SNAKE", "LUNAR OUNCE".
