The American Bison gold coin is the first coin, from the United States Mint (a division of West Point), to be struck in 24-karat gold. This investment-grade product was approved by the US Congress in 2005 and has been in continuous production since 2006. Furthermore, it is guaranteed by the US government and is full legal tender in the issuer's country.The American Bison is a minted one ounce currency with an unlimited mintage. It is also, a currency that is gaining more and more popularity every year, not only within the United States but also abroad. It is interesting to note that in addition to the investment version, collector editions (American Buffalo One Ounce Gold Proof Coin) are also sold, which include certificates of authenticity issued by the mint. The Averse depicts an Indian, which Fraser said was created as a blend of the qualities of three chiefs of different American Indian tribes - Big Tree, Steel Tail and Two Moons.
