In 1620, Sir John Melton first mentioned clovers bringing good luck in literature, he wrote: "If a man walking in a field finds any four-leaved grass, he will soon find something good".
The coin was struck in pure Au.9999 gold, weighing 1 gram, 13.92 mm in diameter, in proof standard. The mintage of the coin is 2,025 pieces. The product is full legal tender in the Republic of Palau.
The obverse shows the "Republic of Palau" logo. The obverse also shows the denomination and the inscription "REPUBLIC OF PALAU".
Rewers show a coloured four-leaf clover, the inscription "GOLD LUCK" and the date of issue.
