The obverse of the coin is decorated with an effigy of King Charles III.The obverse shows the date of issue, country of issue, weight and purity of the bullion. The designer of the obverse was Stephen J. Fuller
Rewers depicts a kiwi by the shore of Lake Rotoiti.The reverse also bears the inscription "ROROA GREAT SPOTTED KIWI APTERYX MAXIMA" and the face value of the coin. The designer of the reverse was Stevan Stojanovic.
