The 2024 Australian Emu is the seventh instalment of the exclusive Australian Emu coin series, which is in extraordinary, ever-increasing demand among buyers, numismatists and Australian wildlife enthusiasts around the globe. The coin showcases one of Australia's most iconic wildlife animals, which forms an important part of the continent's rich natural heritage. Also featured are the kangaroo, koala, kookaburra, dingo, Tasmanian devil or wombat. The Australian emu, together with the Australian kangaroo, occupy a key place on the Australian coat of arms. The symbol of the animals is progressiveness in line with the Australian motto - "never backwards, always forward".

The exclusive and unrivalled Australian Emu coin series featuring the endemic bird of Australia was launched in 2018 through a collaboration between Metal Market Europe and The Perth Mint. Since 2018, Australian mint The Perth Mint has been issuing gold and silver values exclusively for Metal Market Europe - the authorised and exclusive distributor of Australian Emu coins. Metal Market Europe has been working with the most refurbished mints located on 5 continents for more than a decade and is a valued distributor of precious metals and numismatics in Central and Eastern Europe.

Each year, the unique Australian Emu coin collection features limited editions, issued in the highest gold and silver grades, making the investment and collector's values highly desirable premium products.

The Perth Mint, the mint that issues the Australian Emu series, is a long-established entity that has prospered for more than a century, producing stunning bullion and collectible values that are among the most recognisable rarities for safe investment or asset diversification.

The silver bullion coin, Australian Emu 2024, has been made from the highest quality Ag.9999 bullion, with a weight of 1 troy ounce and a maximum diameter of 40.9 mm. The coin was struck in a limited mintage of only 30,000 pieces. It is worth mentioning that out of the mintage of 30 000 silver coins, only 300 pieces were submitted for grading. Each Australian Emu coin produced by The Perth Mint, under the Australian Currency Act 1965, is full legal tender in the issuing country. What's more, the 2024 Australian Emu silver coins are supplied in their original, dedicated caps.

The obverse of the silver coinage features, for the first time in the history of Australian Emu coins, the image of King Charles III, who assumed the throne from his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II, on 8 September 2022. The King's official coronation took place on 6 May 2023 at Westminster Abbey. The obverse design features the inscription 'CHARLES III' and information on the issuing country and face value of the coin, along with the initials of talented designer Dan Thorne. The likeness of King Charles III has been officially approved by His Majesty King Charles III.

Rewers of the coin show an image of a mature Emu in left profile, standing on a grassy dune. The penetrating gaze, tightly clenched beak and upright figure may indicate a high level of alertness and readiness of the emu to react to its surroundings. These features are typical of situations in which the bird feels threatened or when it is intensely observing its surroundings in an effort to spot potential dangers. In the background, agitated waves are shown adding dynamism and impressing with their majestic power, accentuating the untamed power of nature. The waves are ready to erase the emu's footprints left on the sand, symbolising the inevitable transience and constant change that nature brings with it. On the reverse side is information on the year of issue, purity of the bullion and weight of the piece. The magnificent design of the reverse was created by artist Ing Ing Jong, a long-time designer of The Perth Mint coins, who pays particular attention to detail and knows how to combine traditional motifs with a modern approach and preservation of cultural heritage. In addition, the design features a security feature in the form of an engraved letter 'P' along with the number '125', which is both a unique protection for the coin against counterfeiting and signifies that The Perth Mint is celebrating its 125th anniversary of fine craftsmanship in 2024.
