Tuvalu: The Christmas Nutcracker coloured, gold-plated 2 oz Silver 2024 Antiqued Coin is a unique offering from the Australian mint, The Perth Mint. The coin is inspired by the charming Christmas Eve tale of a young girl's love for a wooden nutcracker doll.
The product has been struck in pure Ag.9999 sterling silver, weighing 2 troy ounces and measuring 45.6mm in diameter. The mintage of the coins is 2,500 pieces. Each piece has an antiqued finish.
Moreover, each coin has been enhanced with a rotating gold-plated insert. Furthermore, the individual pieces are delivered in an elegant packaging with an accompanying certificate of authenticity.
The obverse of the silver coin is decorated with the effigy of King Charles III The entire coin is surrounded by the inscription "CHARLES III" , "TUVALU" and information on the weight, minting date, face value, year and proof of the coin. The designer of the obverse was Ian Rank-Broadley.
The Rewers feature a revolving, gold-plated Nutcracker. In addition, there is a figure of the Mouse King, a young girl among the Christmas presents, and fairies, Christmas trees, an owl, and gold stars, designed by Jennifer McKenna. The reverse also features The Perth Mint's mint mark, the 'P'.
