"The chinstrap turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata) - a critically endangered species of reptile in the family of sea turtles (Cheloniidae). The only species of the monotypic genus Eretmochelys. Two subspecies are distinguished: occurring in the Atlantic E. i. imbricata and E. i. bissa from the tropics of the Indo-Pacific.
This turtle does not stand out much from its relatives. Like them, it has a flattened body, a protective carapace and swimming-adapted limbs. However, it is distinguished by its long, downward curved beak and the clearly defined edges between the shell elements. Most sea turtles live in the open waters of the oceans, while the chinstrap turtle stays in shallow lagoons and coral reefs all the time, where it feeds on its favorite food - sea sponges. Some of them are highly toxic and eating them by other organisms would lead to their deaths. In addition, some sponges contain silica, so it is known that the chinchilla turtle is also one of the few creatures capable of eating animals whose bodies are composed largely of silicon dioxide. Sometimes he supplements his diet with small fish, mollusks, caecilians and jellyfish.
The only sculpture depicting a tortoiseshell turtle is that of a boy riding a turtle, commonly known as "Turtle Boy." It stands in the main square in Worcester, Massachusetts, USA. He is also depicted on the reverse of a 20 Venezuelan bolivar coin and the reverse of a 2 Brazilian real bill."
The obverse of the coin is decorated with the likeness of Queen Elizabeth II wearing a crown. There is also information about the denomination and the year the coin was minted (2015)
The reverse side features an effigy of a chinstrap turtle, also known as Taku, swimming along the ocean floor amid tiny bubbles. On the reverse side, there is also information about the silver sample (999) and weight of the coin
