Tiritiri Matangi 1 oz Silver 2019 Proof
The limited edition Tiritiri Matangi silver coin is a coin that both honors and depicts New Zealand's oldest operating lighthouse. The 2019 silver coin was struck from pure Ag bullion.999, with a weight of one troy ounce and a diameter of 40 mm, in standard proof.
This silver coin is minted by Royal Dutch Mint on behalf of New Zealand Post. Moreover, Tiritiri Matangi has a limited mintage of 1,500 pieces, with each coin accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The whole thing comes in an exclusive case that includes an innovative ultraviolet lighting effect.
Obverse depicts Britain's Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Ian Rank- Broadley. In addition, the obverse features information about the issuer's country, weight, minting sample and date of issue.
Reverse the silver coin depicts a New Zealand lighthouse, located on the island of Tiritiri Matangi. The visible "light" that the lantern creates actually shines when the UV light in the case is turned on. Hannah Fortune is responsible for the reverse design.
