The Collectible Set of 8 Coins from Tuvalu: James Bond - Roger Moore Colored Silver 2024 Proof portrays British actor Roger Moore, who gained worldwide fame for his role as James Bond. Born on October 14, 1927, in London, Moore played the character of Agent 007 in seven films from the James Bond series, from "Live and Let Die" (1973) to "A View to a Kill" (1985).
This unique 2024 edition includes coins minted from pure silver of Ag.9999 fineness, featuring one one-ounce coin with a diameter of 40.9 mm, gilded in 24-carat gold, and seven coins weighing 1/2 troy ounce and with a diameter of 32.6 mm. The set is limited to 500 pieces. The coins, made to proof standard, showcase a mirror finish on both the reverse and obverse sides.
The collection was produced by the Australian Perth Mint on behalf of the state of Tuvalu, making the government of Tuvalu the guarantor of the numismatic value of the coins. The coins are delivered in plastic capsules, an elegant display case, and come with a certificate of authenticity.
Obverse of the one-ounce coin features the portrait of King Charles III of the United Kingdom, designed by Jody Clark, along with the year of issue, fineness, weight, and issuing country details.
Reverse of the one-ounce coin depicts Roger Moore in a classic James Bond pose, with a sepia finish, along with the titles of the seven films and the iconic 007 logo.
The other seven 1/2-ounce coins have on their obverse the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley, as well as markings regarding weight, fineness, denomination, and the year 2021. Each of these coins commemorates a different film featuring Moore as Bond, from "Live and Let Die" to "A View to a Kill".
