Collector's set of 6 coins New Zealand: Currency 2023 Proof is a unique product that presents versions of New Zealand circulation coins.
The set includes an exclusive 1-dollar silver proof coin, minted from pure Ag bullion.999, weighing 1 troy ounce, 40 mm in diameter, designed by Sacha Lees and Wellington, which depicts a native bee - the Ngaro Huruhuru produced by BH Mayer's Kunstprägeanstalt GmbH, commissioned by the New Zealand Post. The coin is gold plated with yellow gold.
Other cylinders are minted from copper-nickel alloy and brass, in standard proof. Coins have denominations - 2 Dollar, 1 Dollar, 50 Cent, 20 Cent, 10 Cent. In order of highest face value, the products have weight and diameter: 11.25 g and 26.50 mm, 8.60 g and 23.00 mm, 5.60 g and 24.74 mm, 4.45 g and 21.75 mm, 3.70 g and 20.50 mm.
The Royal Dutch Mint is responsible for the limited issue of the set to 750 pieces. The product is beaten on behalf of New Zealand Post. This value comes in exclusive packaging with a certificate of authenticity.
Obverses present a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II and information about the issuing country, weight, purity of bullion and year of minting. The designer of the obverse was Ian Rank-Broadley.
On the reverses information about the denomination was placed. Values depict successively: colored bee - Ngaro Huruhuru, white heron -The kōtuku, kiwi, Taranaki Mountain, sculpture depicting the 18th century Maori leader called "Pūkākī", carved Maori mask or "kōruru" with Maori rafter patterns.
