Polish Thermopylae - Warsaw Thermopylae 20 zloty Silver 2023 Proof is an interesting numismatic offer presented by the National Bank of Poland. The value commemorates the battle in Warsaw's Młociny district of the 1st Battalion of the 30th Infantry Regiment of Kaniowski Riflemen commanded by Major Bronislaw Czeslaw Kaminski, which took place on September 20-21, 1939.
This is a piece that was made of sterling silver Ag.925, weighing 28.28 grams, in standard proof.
What's more, the silver product has a strictly limited mintage of up to 10,000 minted pieces and the whole thing comes in an exclusive case with a certificate of authenticity.
Obverse depicts the goddess Athena, designed by Ursula Walerzak. The obverse bears the inscription "RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA 2023", "POLSKIE TERMOPILE", as well as information about the nominal value of the coin and the year of minting of the coin.
Reverse shows Major Bronislaw Czeslaw Kaminski and the badge of the 30th Infantry Regiment of Kaniowski Riflemen. On the reverse side there are inscriptions: "MJR BRONISLAW C. KAMIŃSKI", "WARSAW TERMOPILES" and "September 20-21, 1939". The reverse was designed by Kajetan Karkucinski.
