The Perth Mint bullion coin: Lunar III - Year of the Dragon 1000 grams Silver 2024 is the fifth issue of the Lunar III series. The previous coins in the series were the Year of the Mouse 2020, the Year of the Buffalo 2021 and the Year of the Tiger 2022, Year of the Rabbit 2023. The lunar series refers to the 12 animals that represent the Chinese lunar calendar. The Year of the Dragon 2024 belongs to the dragon and, in Chinese mythology, is a majestic beast that inhabits rivers, lakes and oceans and roams the sky. The Chinese zodiac sign of the dragon falls in the years: 1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012 and 2024.

The coin was struck from Ag.9999 sterling silver, weighing 1,000 grams and with a diameter of 100.6 mm. The Perth Mint, a renowned precious metals producer, is responsible for issuing the coin. The coin is guaranteed by the Australian Government as to the legality and origin of the metal, and is also legal tender in the issuer's country. The specimen features a micro-engraved lettering security feature on the reverse side.

Not being able to add more coins to an already existing order decreases the chances I will buy in the future because in other shops I only have to pay shipping once even if I did spread the purchase over some months while they were getting ahold of temporarily unavailable items. Shipping package contains the name of the shop which includes the word "metals". I think it´s an unnecessary chance that delivery people get to learn about me purchasing metals. Shipping speed was good.
