The limited edition North Island Takahe 1 oz. Silver 2019 Proof coin is a piece that showcases the extremely endangered Southern Takahe, which is an endemic bird of New Zealand.
The silver coin was struck with a mirror stamp (proof) from pure Ag bullion.999, with a weight of one troy ounce and a diameter of 40 mm. The mint BH Mayer's Kunstprägeanstalt GmbH is responsible for its manufacture.
The mintage of the silver coin is only 1,500 pieces, where the whole coin comes in an elegant case with an accompanying certificate of authenticity.
Obverse presents an effigy of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain, designed by Ian Rank- Broadley. In addition, the obverse features information about the issuer's country, date of issue, weight and purity of the bullion.
Reverse the silver coin is decorated with an image of the South Takahe, the inscription "NORTH ISLAND TAHAKE - MOHO" and Information about the coin's face value. The designer of the reverse was Dave Burke.
