The limited edition Black Ferns colored 1 ounce Silver 2022 Proof coin is a piece that showcases the ferns. The fern is the symbol of New Zealand's men's rugby team, the All Blacks, and women's team, the Black Ferns. To date, the women's team has won five Rugby World Cups.
The silver coin was struck from pure Ag bullion.999, with a weight of 1 troy ounce and a diameter of 38.6 mm. It is the responsibility of the B.H. Mayer's Kunstprägeanstalt GmbH, with the minting done on behalf of the New Zealand Post.
The mintage of the silver coin is only 1,000 pieces, where the whole coin comes in an elegant case with an accompanying certificate of authenticity.
Obverse depicts Britain's Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Ian Rank- Broadley. In addition, the obverse features information about the issuer's country, date of issue, weight and purity of the bullion.
Reverse the silver coin is decorated with a colorful female figure along with a fern and information about the face value of the coin. The designer of the reverse was Dave Burke.
