The Big Five II: Leopard 1 oz Silver 2023 coin is the fourth instalment of the second series, the Big Five II. The first series was very popular with collectors and buyers. The limited series of the Big Five of Africa is made up of animals - elephant, lion, rhino, leopard and buffalo. The coin shows a leopard. The animals are mainly herbivores.

The silver bullion coin was struck from pure Ag.999 bullion, weighing 1 troy ounce and measuring 38.73 mm in diameter.

This unique piece was produced by the renowned mint, The South Africa Mint, and is official legal tender in the issuing country. The entire series is guaranteed by the South African government as to the legality, purity of the bullion and the origin of the metal. The silver leopard has a mintage of only 20 000 pieces. The individual pieces come in a presentable box from which additional information about both the coin and the animal itself can be read.

The obverse shows the head of a leopard and the inscription "SOUTH AFRICA", "BIG FIVE 2023" and the South African coat of arms. On the reverse the two halves of the leopard's head are depicted. The reverse bears the inscription 'FIVE RAND' and information about the weight and purity of the bullion. By arranging several coins in one position, the whole group of leopards can be depicted.
