The limited series of Africa's Big Five is made up of animals - elephant, lion, rhino, leopard and buffalo. Coin shows buffalo. Animals are mainly herbivores.
The silver bullion coin was struck from pure Ag bullion.999, with a weight of 1 troy ounce and a diameter of 38.73 mm.
This unique piece was produced by the renowned mint, The South Africa Mint, and is official legal tender in the country of the issuer. The entire series is guaranteed by the South African government as to the legality, purity of the bullion and the origin of the metal.
Silver buffalo has an edition of only 20,000 pieces. Individual pieces come in a representative package from which you can read additional information about both the coin and the animal itself.
Obverse shows a buffalo head and the inscription "SOUTH AFRICA", "BIG FIVE 2023" and the South African coat of arms.
On the reverse side two halves of the buffalo's head are depicted. The reverse side bears the inscription "FIVE RAND" and information about the weight and purity of the bullion. By arranging several coins in one position, it is possible to present a whole group of buffaloes.
