The Australia Zoo: Southern White Rhinoceros 1 oz Silver 2023 coin is the fourth piece in the Australia Zoo series. The Australia Zoo series consists of silver and gold bullion coins themed around the major animal species that inhabit one of the most popular zoos located in Australia. Three coins have been released to date - the 2020 Sumatran Tiger, the 2021 Cheetah and the 2022 Elephant. The 2023 silver coin depicts a rhinoceros. The white rhinoceros is the largest land mammal after the elephant. It can reach up to four metres in length and weigh up to more than two thousand kilograms. The bullion coin was struck in pure Ag.999 silver, weighing 1 troy ounce and measuring 40 mm in diameter. Its mintage is limited to 25,000 pieces. The Royal Australian Mint, a renowned precious metals producer, is responsible for the production of the silver coin. The Averse of the coin depicts an image of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain along with information on the year of mintage, the denomination and the issuing country. The designer of the obverse was Jody Clark.
The reverse features an image of a white rhinoceros . The reverse bears the inscription "AUSTRALIA ZOO" and "SOUTHERN WHITE RHINOCEROS". In addition, the reverse provides information on the weight and mintage of the silver coin. The designer of the reverse was Adam William Ball.Projektant
