Archey's Frog colored 2 oz Silver 2022 Antique
The limited edition Archey's Frog colored 2 oz Silver 2022 Antique coin is a piece that showcases a now extinct, endemic frog that inhabited Northern New Zealand. Interestingly, the amphibian is named after Auckland Institute's Sir Gilbert Archey. The frog reached a maximum body length of up to 37mm.
The silver coin was struck from pure Ag bullion.999, weighing two troy ounces and measuring 50 mm in diameter, in antique standard. BH Mayer's Kunstprägeanstalt GmbH is responsible for its manufacture, with the minting done on behalf of New Zealand Post.
The mintage of the silver coin is only 350 pieces, where the whole coin comes in an elegant case with an accompanying certificate of authenticity.
Obverse depicts Britain's Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Ian Rank- Broadley. In addition, the obverse features information about the issuer's country, date of issue, weight and purity of the bullion.
Reverse the silver coin is decorated with an image of a colored Archey's Frog, the inscription "ARCHEY'S FROG" and the face value of the coin. The designer of the reverse was Dave Burke.
