American Silver Eagle Coin 2017
The American Eagle is a coin struck in fine silver and produced by the United States Mint. This mint prides itself on minting coins using locally sourced bullion. The American Eagle was first minted in 1986. The obverse was created by Augustus Saint-Gaudens for coins minted between 1907 and 1933, and depicts the personification of Liberty, symbol of the United States and liberation, walking with the attributes of peace: an olive branch and a torch. The seat of the US Congress can be seen at her feet, with the sun's rays in the background. The obverse contains the maxim that was included in the Declaration of Independence - 'In God We Trust'The reverse is decorated by an eagle (designed by John Mercanti) holding a ribbon with the maxim 'E pluribus unum' (Latin: Out of many one), referring to the unification of the states.
