The Perth Mint 125th Anniversary 1 oz Silver 2024 Proof coin celebrates the 125th anniversary of the Perth Mint. The mint was established on 20 June 1899, during the heyday of the gold boom in Western Australia. Through the process of refining gold and minting 106 million sovereigns over the next three decades, it contributed significantly to the rapid economic development of this region of Australia. Since that landmark moment, the Australian Kangaroo, formerly known as the Australian Nugget, has achieved worldwide recognition and success. Subsequent additions to the official Australian bullion coin programme include the Australian Kookaburra and Australian Koala, both of which are in high demand from investors and collectors

Minted in pure silver, Ag.9999 grade 1 troy ounce weight, in proof standard. Moreover, it has the additional security of an engraved 'P' on the reverse side.

On the obverse it depicts King Charles III of Great Britain, as designed by Dan Thorne. The face value of the coin and the country of issue can also be found on it. The Rewers shows a kangaroo, koala and kookaburra, among acacias - Australia's national floral emblem. The coin bears the inscription '1899 THE PERTH MINT 2024' as well as information on the weight, year of issue and bullion proof. The reverse was designed by Jennifer McKenna.
