The Canadian Maple Leaf, is one of the most recognizable bullion coins in the world. On the reverse side the maple leaf, which is Canada's national symbol, was depicted, as well as the sample in which the coin was struck and the country of the issuer. As of 2014, the mint has further protected the coins by adding a micro-engraved maple leaf miniature in the lower right quadrant.
