Rwanda: African Ounce - 15th Anniversary Mountain Gorilla 1 oz Platinum 2023 is a unique product from the exclusive African Ounce collection created in 2008. The 2023 celebrates the 15th anniversary of the coinage. The aforementioned piece is the 17th instalment of the collection and has been minted in platinum for the third time.

The coin is struck in Pt.999 platinum, weighing one troy ounce and measuring 40 mm in diameter. The Bayerisches Hauptmünzamt is responsible for issuing the entire collection, while it is worth mentioning that the entire collection is guaranteed by the government of Rwanda and each coin is official tender in the issuing country.

On the obverse is the emblem of Rwanda and the face value of the coin.

The Rewers of the coin depict a family of mountain gorillas. Furthermore, a topographical outline of the African continent is depicted above the animals. Completing the whole are the inscriptions "AFRICAN OUNCE", "2008-2023" , 15TH ANNIV." as well as information on the weight, bullion sample and year of mintage of the coin.
