Sigismund III Vasa, Ducat Gdansk 1628 S-B PCGS AU58 Fr-10
**Sigismund III Vasa Ducat, Gdańsk, Year 1628**
This extremely rare coin from the year 1628 appears infrequently on the market, with this specimen being the finest-preserved example available.
Numismatist Józef Tyszkiewicz in his numismatic handbook values this coin at 75 gold marks, a notably higher valuation compared to the 16 gold marks assigned to coins from the years 1630, 1631, and 1632.
Obverse features the coat of arms of Gdańsk with lions and a branch bearing a single three-petaled flower above the shield. The inscription around the edge reads: "MONE AVREA CIVI GEDANENSIS 1628."
Reverse displays a portrait of King Sigismund III Vasa, depicted in crown and armor, along with the inscription: "SIGIS III D G REX POL M D L R PR."
