American Bison 1 oz Gold 2011 Proof
American Bison is the first U.S. Mint coin minted in 24-karat gold. It is a relatively young product, as it was first minted in 2006, but like all United States Mint coins it has quickly achieved popularity among investors around the world. It is interesting to note that in addition to the investment version, collector's editions (American Buffalo One Ounce Gold Proof Coin) are also sold, which include certificates of authenticity issued by the mint.
Obverse depicts the Indian, whom Fraser said was created as a blend of the characteristics of three chiefs of different American Indian tribes-Big Tree, Steel Tail and Two Moons. The obverse also depicts the motto "Freedom " in the upper right corner, the year of issue at the bottom left, and below that the letter F from Fraser's name.
On the reverse side on top of the mound stands a Bison (often referred to as a buffalo). Most people believe that the animal depicted on the back is a buffalo named Black Diamond, who lived at the New York Central Park Zoo in 1910. On the reverse side, we can also see the American motto "In God We Trust" and "E pluribus unum" (Latin). Of many one) and the denomination of the coin ($50).
