The obverse of the coin is decorated with the Niue coat of arms and a dinosaur skeleton, the inscription "PREHISTORIC WORLD" and the coin's denomination and year. The Rewers depicts a coloured Maiasaurus with other dinosaurs. The reverse bears the inscription 'MAIASAURA.
