The 2013 Cook Islands HMS Bounty 1 oz Silver Collector's Coin is styled after the legendary ship from the novel The Bounty Mutiny. The mutiny that occurred in the Pacific ended with the surrender of the captain and 18 crew members. Forced to abandon ship, they were left in the middle of nowhere in a small lifeboat. After a grueling 3,500-mile swim, the captain finally reaches safe land, from which he begins his search for the rebels.
The coin was minted from pure Ag silver.999, a denomination of $1 and a weight of 1 troy ounce.
Obverse invariably adorns the image of Queen Elizabeth II. The obverse also bears the inscription "ELIZABETH II", "COOK ISLANDS" and the year of the coin's minting. The designer of the obverse was Ian Rank-Broadley.
