Banknote Ukraine 1000 Hryven (1000 UAH) Circulated 100 pieces
In a set
The 1000 hryvnia banknote is a modern means of payment with advanced security features, honoring Volodymyr Vernadskyi, an eminent Ukrainian scientist and philosopher. Its dimensions are 160 x 75 mm, and the graphic design symbolizes Ukraine's scientific and national achievements as well as pride in its heritage.
On the front of the banknote is a portrait of Volodymyr Vernadskyi (1863–1945), the founder of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences and a pioneer in fields such as geochemistry and biogeochemistry.
On the back of the banknote is an illustration of the building of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine – an impressive Neo-Renaissance style building from the mid-19th century, designed by architect Aleksandr Beretti. The Academy took it over in 1918, the year the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences was founded. The building is characterized by rustication and decorative attic elements with a cast iron grate.
To ensure protection against counterfeiting, several security features have been applied, such as:
Watermark with a portrait of Vernadskyi and the digital denomination "₴1000" visible when held up to the light.
Security thread visible in the light, with the microtext “₴1000”.
Tilt effect – the denomination "1000" changes color depending on the viewing angle.
Optically variable ink – graphic elements change color from purple to green.
Elements detectable by touch , including Vernadskyi's portrait, denomination, and markings for the visually impaired.
