Pressburg Mint
History of creation
The Slovak capital Bratislava (Pressburg) boasts a centuries-old minting tradition that was forgotten for many years. Its origins date back to 1430, when Bratislava was granted the right to mint coins for the Holy Roman Empire and the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Bratislava, of course, took advantage of this right and for many years minted coins delivered to many regions of Europe. And although production ceased in the 18th century, the issued right to mint coins was never withdrawn. Today, after a hiatus of more than 300 years, Pressburg Mint is resurrecting old traditions and bringing back to Slovakia the interest of investors and collectors looking for high-quality coins and other precious metal products.
Although Pressburg Mint refers to Bratislava's historical minting roots and intends to continue this rich tradition, it does so in a completely different style. Boldly reaches for modern technology and mints coins and medallions with the utmost precision and care. The founders of Pressburg Mint are guided by the simple idea that a coin is not just a carrier of value - it should also carry a message. For this reason, among others, coins minted in Bratislava are increasingly popular with investors and collectors from around the world.
Curiosity
Producing top-quality coins and medallions that will stand out is a challenge that is difficult to meet today using traditional methods. With this in mind, Pressburg Mint decided to reach out to 3D printing and the opportunities it brings with it. To this end, in collaboration with technology partners, the mint has developed appropriate methods and presented its first limited edition coin to the world at Formnext 2021.
Production volume
Pressburg Mint is a private mint that was established relatively recently, so its scale of production is not exaggerated. Available silver coins generally appear in mintages of 30,000. pieces, however, there is no shortage of those that are much more tightly limited. In the case of gold coins, the mintage is several times lower.
The coins produced by the mint are made in partnership with countries such as Chad, Tokelau and Niue. Each coin issued is guaranteed by the government and is full legal tender in the country of the issuer.
Today, the mint is able to produce coins on a large scale that would be extremely difficult or even impossible to make using traditional methods. For this reason, among others, coins from Pressburg Mint's offerings arouse the admiration and interest of investors from all over the world.
Most popular products
