The Britannia 4 Coin Set Silver 2025 Reverse Frosted is a unique collection closely tied to the history and heritage of the United Kingdom. Britannia is a symbol of strength, resilience, and the maritime power of the country. It first appeared on coins around 119 AD during the reign of Emperor Hadrian. It disappeared after the fall of the Roman Empire but returned during the Elizabethan era and began symbolizing British dominance at sea. Since the 17th century, it has continuously appeared on the coins of every British monarch.
The coins are struck from silver with a fineness of Ag.999, in a proof finish. The set contains coins with the following denominations: £2, 50p, 10p, 5p. The products have the following weights and diameters: 1 ounce and 38.61 mm, 1/4 ounce and 22.00 mm, 1/20 ounce and 12.00 mm, 1/40 ounce and 8 mm.
The mintage of the set is limited to only 450 pieces. Furthermore, this extraordinary set was produced by The Royal Mint.
Obverse of the coin features King Charles III of the United Kingdom, based on a design by Martin Jennings. It also shows the face value of the coin.
Reverse shows a new interpretation of Britannia, designed by Bradley Morgan Johnson. The figure of Britannia, holding a trident and proudly gazing directly at the observer, stands above the turbulent waves that lead towards the rays of the rising sun. Additionally, the reverse features information about the weight, metal purity, and year of minting, as well as the inscription "BRITANNIA."
