Banknote NBP Maria Skłodowska-Curie 20 Zloty 2011
The NBP Maria Skłodowska-Curie 20 zloty banknote 2011 is a collector's offer of the National Bank of Poland commemorating Maria Skłodowska-Curie on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of her Nobel Prize in Chemistry. This unique product is the result of a successful collaboration between the National Bank of Poland and the Polish Security Printing Works.
The banknote has a size of 138 mm x 69 mm, a nominal value of 20 PLN and a limited edition of up to 60,000 pieces. Responsible for the design of the banknote are: Agnieszka Próchniak and Przemysław Krajewski.
The obverse of the banknote shows an image of the Nobel medal, an excerpt from the Nobel Prize winner's speech on radium and a representation of the Radium Institute in Warsaw.
The reverse of the banknote features a portrait of Marie Skłodowska-Curie and an illustration of the Sorbonne building in Paris, as well as the face value.
In addition to its collector and sentimental value, attention should be paid to the security features used. The main security features implemented include: watermark, security threads, optically variable ink, microprint, UV-visible elements, recto-verso and tactile embossing.
