The Royal Canadian Mint - Lunar Year of the Snake 10 gram Gold Bar 2025 LBMA
The one-ounce pure gold bar (Au. 9999) from the Royal Canadian Mint is an elegant tribute to the Year of the Snake—a symbol of the Chinese lunar calendar, which endows unique qualities to those born during this time. The intricate design on the snake highlights the bar’s uniqueness.
Using the same award-winning technology found on Canadian $1 and $2 coins, each gold bar contains two textured security marks in the shape of a maple leaf, micro-engraved with laser technology and visible only under magnification. Inside this maple leaf, two digits indicate the bar’s year of production.
Each one-ounce gold bar is hermetically sealed in redesigned, secure packaging that mirrors the bar’s design, providing a stunning presentation and an extra layer of protection.
What is LBMA?
LBMA, or the London Bullion Market Association, is an association that sets and oversees compliance with quality and safety requirements in mint product manufacturing. This important body consists of institutions directly connected to the precious metals market, including mints, international banks, and others.
Importantly, only a manufacturer recommended by at least three entities that are already LBMA members can become part of the LBMA. Additionally, strict procedures ensure membership is granted only to the most respected and trusted entities, which are also listed on the regularly updated Good Delivery List. The Good Delivery List is LBMA’s list of entities, and it is publicly accessible to everyone.
As a result, the price obtained for an LBMA-accredited bar will be the highest possible, meaning it will be higher than that of bars produced by mints that have not received LBMA accreditation.
