The coins were struck from Au gold.9999, weighing 1/2 ounce, 30mm in diameter, in standard proof. This unique set was produced in a limited edition of only 150 pieces. The coins were placed in their original wooden packaging.

Obverses the coins are decorated with the likeness of Queen Elizabeth II wearing a crown and include information about the date of issue, country of issue, weight and purity of bullion. The designer of the obverse was Ian Rank-Broadley.

Reverts show the Knowledge Baskets and Tāne Mahuta and the face value of the values of the vales. David Hakaraia is responsible for the project.
