This mint is the longest-running mint in Europe and is responsible for producing coins and decorations for approximately 60 countries around the world. It also has the exclusive right to produce pounds and state decorations in the United Kingdom. This is the last edition of the Sovereign struck in rose gold.
The Sovereign from 2025 is struck from metal of fineness Au. 916.7, made of 22-carat gold, with a diameter of 22.05 mm and a weight of 7.99 grams. Each coin in this historical series contains a copper alloy, which helps maintain high resistance to scratches and damage. Moreover, all Sovereigns are guaranteed by the government of the United Kingdom.
Obverse features the portrait of King Charles III of the United Kingdom, with the inscription "CHARLES III∙DEI∙GRA∙REX∙FID∙DEF," designed by Martin Jennings.
Reverse depicts the scene of Saint George slaying the dragon. The date of issue is also indicated at the bottom of the gold coin. The designer of the reverse was Benedetto Pistrucci.
