Product Big Five II: Buffalo 2 x 1/4 ounce Gold 2023 Proof is a set containing coins that are the fifth installment of the second series - Big Five II. The first series was very popular with collectors and merchants. The limited series of Africa's Big Five is made up of animals - elephant, lion, rhino, leopard and buffalo. Coin shows buffalo. Animals are mainly herbivores.
The coins were struck from pure Au bullion.9999, with a weight of 1/4 troy ounce and a diameter of 22 mm, in standard proof.
The currency was produced by the renowned mint, The South Africa Mint, and is official legal tender in the country of the issuer. The entire series is guaranteed by the South African government as to the legality, purity of the bullion and the origin of the metal.
The set has an edition of only 1,000 pieces and individual, original packaging.
Obverse shows a buffalo head and the inscription "SOUTH AFRICA", "BIG FIVE 2023" and the South African coat of arms.
On the reverse side two halves of the buffalo's head are depicted. The reverse side bears the inscription "FIFTY RAND" and information about the weight and purity of the bullion. By arranging several coins in one position, it is possible to present a whole group of buffaloes.
