Niue: Phoenix 1 oz Gold 2024 Prooflike is a currency that depicts the phoenix, which is a mythical symbol of happiness, harmony and prosperity. The phoenix is a combination of several other birds - the head of a pheasant, the body of a Mandarin duck, the tail of a peacock, the beak of a parrot and the wings of a swallow. The gold coin was struck in pure Au.9999 bullion, weighing 1 troy ounce and measuring 32mm in diameter. The mintage of the coin is limited to only 10,000 pieces. Moreover, each coin of the series acts as a fully fledged means of payment.
The obverse shows the likeness of King Charles III of Great Britain and information about the date of issue and the coin's face value. The designer of the obverse was Jody Clark.
