Obverse of the Australian Emu coin features a refreshed image of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Jody Clark. The edge of the coin bears the inscription: "Elizabeth II Australia" and the coin's denomination.
Reverse depicts a pair of emus in their natural habitat, the characteristic Australian outback, with stones, bushes, and a tree in the background. The entire design is surrounded by the inscription "Australian Emu" as well as information such as the year of issue, coin weight, and gold purity.
