What is LBMA?
The LBMA, or London Bullion Market Association, is an association that sets and oversees compliance with quality and safety requirements in the manufacture of minted products. This important body is formed by institutions that are directly related to the precious metals market m.in. mints, international banks and others.
Importantly, only a manufacturer that has been previously recommended by a minimum of three entities that are already members of the LBMA can be part of the LBMA. And, in addition, strict procedures are in place to ensure membership to only the most respected and trusted entities that are also included in the regularly updated Good Delivery List. Good Delivery List is a list of LBMA entities that is generally available to all.
Consequently, the price received for an LBMA-accredited asset will be the highest possible, i.e. will be higher than the price of currencies produced by mints that have not received LBMA accreditation.
